What does it mean to be Asian American
I'm proud to be Asian. I have to learn both Chinese and American cultures.
I can keep the culture through my clothing, through my language (with speaking, reading and writing).
What motivates you to do what you do everyday?
God and my family. Hoping that everyone in the world does well, that everyone goes to work and enjoy their life. I am a breast cancer survivor. I want my knowledge of that experience to help others facing cancer too so they don't feel alone.
Ethnic background: Chinese
Age: 72
Current city & state: Minneapolis, Minnesota
What do you worry about?
War. I don't want that to happen. I pray for peace.
What can’t you live without?
My medication for high blood pressure! I cannot live without it!
What brings you joy? See my grandkids. See my children.
What is your wish for the United States? Peace. Every household to be wealthy and living good. People to love each other.
What role do you play in making that wish come true? Show the love to others. I do this with other senior citizens. I volunteer with a Chinese senior citizens organization to help Chinese elders.

Grace Pik Ha Wong with marriage certificate, 2021
My item is my marriage certificate. My marriage brought me to this country, which was over 55 years ago! I hope this can encourage and inspire other couples that marriages can last!
