What does it mean to be Asian American?

Being Asian American means the best of both worlds; understanding different aspects of cultures and diversity. It means having opportunities for creating your own life canvas! It's almost like your "teacher" gives you an empty canvas for you to paint your own life, and you can put this as a model. Creativity is intelligence having fun.

What motivates you to do what you do everyday? Creativity motivates me. Being creative is having fun. Everything is about being creative. Also, the Bible (Proverbs 11:25) says, "...those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed." When you are being selfless it benefits others; so when I am helping others and thinking of them, it not only helps them but refreshes me!

What can’t you live without? Integrity and inner peace.

What brings you joy? Focusing on things that are simple. And, Chinese martial arts (Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, meditation).

Ethnic background(s): Chinese
Current city & state: Minneapolis, Minnesota

What do you worry about? Fear of imbalance. Finding the balance in my life - in my work, in my martial arts, when exercising, in our country's politics. I worry about the powerful tricksters who manipulate others for their own benefit.

What is your wish for the United States? Truth. Openness, clarity, truthfulness and integrity.

What role do you play, or want to play in making that wish come true? Being involved with my circle of influence.

Anything else you wish to say about being Asian American? It's a blessing to be Asian American! You have the best of both worlds.

“It’s a blessing to be Asian American!
You have the best of both worlds.”
